Welcome to Camp Merz. We take great pride in our facilities and program areas.  With 340 acres of forests and fields along with 1000 feet of lake front we are fortunate to be able to provide a program that we are proud of.
The water front at Camp Merz is second to none.  We are located on beautiful Chautauqua Lake, just north of the Chautauqua Institution and south of Mayville, New York; with 1000 feet of pristine water front.  Every year it just gets better; 2005 we purchased all new docks and boat lifts, 2006 we purchased “The Blob” a water trampoline with a catapult and slide, and in 2007 we purchased new rowboats and motor boats.  It is only getting better here at Camp Merz.

As if the lake is not enough, we have the scenic views along the Portage Trail, as well as many other attractions around the Chautauqua Region.

Also at Camp Merz, we dedicated our new shooting sports complex in 2003, and we now offer skeet shooting in addition to 22’s and black powder and our new BB range was dedicated in 2004. We also have a covered archery range for all weather shooting.

And if you’re still not seeing what you’re looking for, we offer many different areas to look forward to: Nature, Handicraft, Scout Craft, Nimawanachen, and more!

Our trading post is second to none. We always have a large selection of snacks, drinks, camping supplies, scouting supplies, scout uniform items and Camp Merz apparel.

If camping in the off season is what you are looking for, we can accommodate you there too!! We have cabins available Lean-to's and the beautiful Dawson Lodge and training center.
