Introducing Camp Merz’s New Older Scout Program

new name, better than ever…

Camp Monkey-Fist, OSP

Starting in 2008 Camp Merz introduced a program, The Camp Merz Older Scout Program.  Since then there has been significant interest shown in the program and to respond we are developing and implementing new and exciting features to the program.

The program is being called Camp Monkey-Fist, OSP.  The name has been chosen to symbolize the challenge of tying the monkey fist knot and the feeling of accomplishment when it is tied right.  The Older Scout Program, OSP, offered is challenging and fun, and when done right there is a feeling of great achievement.

Starting in 2009 we are dedicating a camping area in the unused portion of Camp Merz for Camp Monkey-Fist, OSP to use on overnight camping trips.

So, if you’re thinking because I am over the age of 15 there is nothing left for me to do at Camp Merz?  Well then I guess you are wrong.  As of 2008 Camp Merz has incorporated an Older Scout Program, now Camp Monkey-Fist, OSP, into the mix.

This program is for scouts 15 and older who enjoy cycling, hiking, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and over night camping.  If this sounds like you, then make sure to sign-up.
