What's New

Reaching the shores of Lake Erie as night began to fall, Captain La Salle, of the French Canadian Army, and his men made camp. He and his lieutenants spent the night discussing the plans for the mission of finding the best route to the Ohio River Valley. As the dawn broke across the great lake, the men awoke and forged south.

Following a small path set by animals and Native Americans, they made their way for what seemed like several hours. As they reached the top of a hill their eyes looked down upon a crystal clear lake. Tired from their trek, La Salle allowed the men an hour’s rest. As his men quenched their thirst and cooled off, La Salle made his way down the lakeshore. Noticing a pile of rocks a few yards inland he walked over to the stones and reached down. As La Salle’s eyes opened his head pounded and his heart began to beat faster as he realized what had happened. Looking around the cavern, with what little light there was left in the day, he saw what appeared to be a doorway in the distance. He called out to his men;

La Salle knew his findings would be of great importance to the French Ruler of Canada, Marquis de Beaucharnois. The next day he and his men explored the extensive caverns and ruins left by an ancient civilization and realized that they had discovered something that could change their world forever.

After taking some artifacts and tablet scrolls form the ruins, they resealed the cavern and continued on their way. On their return from their voyage, La Salle sent the items they found along with a letter to Marquis de Beaucharnois describing what they discovered. The French Ruler had all the artifacts’ analyzed and translated; their discovery started a quest for the ultimate power.

For over a century the French guarded their secret while still hunting for what they seeked. Although the French lost control of the land, they never lost control of their findings. Quietly they searched and explored the area keeping a watchful eye over the ruins. In the year 1800 the French Canadian ruler recruited a new man to the expedition, William Peacock. William used his resources and brilliance by working for the Holland Land Company, he was able to carefully craft what happened to the land around the ruins.

William Peacock was a well know man in the area. Over the years he became a very wealthy man with many friends in high places. He would often entertain wealthy business men and government officials. In 1870 William met with Dr. John Henry Wilson, they discussed many business topics and then he brought up the idea of the ruins. Meeting in a more private room they discussed what should be done about the ruins. William then showed him the letter written by La Salle to Marquis de Beaucharnois .

On the shores of a crystal clear lake, just inland from Lake Erie, we have discovered a cavern that contains ruins from an ancient society. My men and I explored the ruins for two days finding many artifacts and tablets containing markings that I have sent along with this letter to be translated. We have also discovered a temple at the center of the largest cavern with strange human statues standing in the center of a room at the top of the temple. They stand around the edge of the room staring at a large pedestal at the center with a large clear diamond on it. Not wanting to disturb this ancient ruin we did not touch the diamond; in examining the area, there seemed to be a complex series of traps if the diamond were to be touched. Once we were done exploring, we sealed the caverns and hid them from others. It is in my opinion that this discovery can be of great use to Canada. I will also request the chance for my team and I to study and examine the diamond room so that we may eventually obtain it.

 In reading this letter Dr. Wilson started to question William Peacock about what this letter was about. William explained that the letter has been kept secret by the Canadian ruler and he has been elected to find a way to recruit men to help find this diamond and harness its power that the tablets described. They spent the next few days studying the tablet translation and planning a new organization that would secretly search and find a way to claim the diamond.
